Wally Diouf Bodiang recadre Thierno Alassane Sall : « Il cherche vainement à manipuler l’opinion »
The political debate intensified this weekend with a sharp rebuke from Wally Diouf Bodiang, who attacked former minister and MP Thierno Alassane Sall (TAS). In a statement, the politician denounced what he called "a tasteless performance by a political opportunist."
According to the CEO of the Autonomous Port of Dakar (PAD), TAS's initiative to count the number of electric poles erected by the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER) is "political idiocy and demonstrates a complete lack of ideas within the opposition."
He believes that TAS's approach is "absurd in its conception, ridiculous in its implementation and useless in its results".
According to Bodiang, Thierno Alassane Sall has "mistaken the shadow for the substance," attempting to create an imaginary scandal around ASER, while the real issue remains his own management under Macky Sall's regime. He points out that the agency's young director general, Jean-Michel Sène, has already firmly responded to the accusations, delivering a "high-voltage shock" to TAS.
Wally Diouf Bodiang describes it as a "dull monologue" and a "storm in a teacup." He accuses the former minister of trying to manipulate public opinion by organizing visits to certain localities, accompanied by a "media buffoon, a former apprentice tailor."
For the CEO of the PAD, TAS's public appearances are a tasteless spectacle that reflects a concern about the future of public debate and reveals an opposition "silenced by the government's performance and the factual communication of its leader," he said.
He concludes that this opposition is now seeking its media survival "in the gutters of disinformation".
