L’AFP monte au front pour défendre la 7TV et la TFM, et exige la libération des journalistes arrêtés
The Alliance of Progressive Forces (AFP) expressed, in a statement released on Wednesday, October 29, its unreserved support for 7TV and TFM, while firmly condemning the arrests of journalists and the cutting off of the signals of these two television channels.
According to AFP, these measures came about following interviews given to Madiambal Diagne, leading to the arrest of Maimouna Ndour Faye, director of 7TV, and Babacar Fall, journalist at RFM, as well as the suspension of broadcasting by these two TV stations.
AFP denounces what it calls “excessive and unacceptable measures in a democratic country like Senegal.” It also condemns the “barbaric acts” it alleges were committed by certain defense and security forces against journalists in their workplaces.
"AFP offers its full support to both press groups and strongly condemns the brutality inflicted on media professionals," the statement said.
Recalling that freedom of information is guaranteed by the Senegalese Constitution, AFP insists that journalists must be able to carry out their mission in complete independence and in all circumstances.
The party finally calls on the authorities to release Maimouna Ndour Faye and Babacar Fall without delay, and to immediately restore the signals of 7TV and TFM, in the name of respect for freedom of the press and Senegalese democracy.

ces poltrons kulunas encagoulés n'ont aucune dignité
L’Alliance des forces de progrès (AFP) n'a aucun poids dans la presse international... juste un outil politique.
