Maimouna Ndour Faye-Babacar Fall : l'Apr dénonce «une instrumentalisation de l’appareil sécuritaire et judiciaire»
The Alliance for the Republic (APR) issued a statement on Wednesday strongly condemning the intervention of the gendarmerie forces at the premises of 7TV and RFM radio. This operation led to the interruption of ongoing programs and the arrest of the Director General of 7TV, Maïmouna Ndour Faye, and RFM journalist Babacar Fall.
The party describes these acts as "unacceptable" and considers them a serious attack on fundamental freedoms, including freedom of the press and expression.
According to the APR, this repressive escalation is part of a series of hostile measures already observed against independent media, such as tax harassment, the suppression of institutional advertising and the breach of agreements.
"The regime is now resorting to barbaric violence, worthy of the worst dictatorships in history," says the APR, denouncing the instrumentalization of the security and judicial apparatus to silence dissenting voices.
In light of this situation, the party demands the immediate release of Maïmouna Ndour Faye and Babacar Fall, as well as an end to all forms of harassment against the media. It also calls on political and social organizations, and all vital forces of the nation, to mobilize to counter what it considers an authoritarian drift threatening the rule of law in Senegal.

Un pays ne peut pas marcher comme un bordel clandestin ou chacun fait ce qu'il veut, dit ce qu'il veut en parfaite violation des regles de droit et de bon sens.
La population adhere entierement à cette rigueur et cette promptitude des ministres dans le sens de retablir l'ordre.
Celui qui n'est pas content, il est libre de faire comme eux et de les rejoindre dans les prisons chaudes et humides de sueurs.

- pourquoi cette justice arrête la famille de Madiambale Diagne alors qu'elle ne l'avait pas pour la famille de Ousmane Sonko quand il a fuit à Ziguinchor?
- pourquoi cette justice arrête Maïmouna Ndour Faye et Babacar Faye alors qu'elle ne l'avait pas pour Pierre Edouard Faye quand il était parti interviewé Sonko à Ziguinchor?
C'est triste et dommage. La dictature rempante est en marche au Sénégal et Diomaye a intérêt à surveiller ses arrières.
