Mort de Abdoulaye BÂ : La réplique du Collectif des Médecins et Chirurgiens-Dentistes en spécialisation au Procureur
The Collective of Doctors, Pharmacists, and Dental Surgeons in Specialization in Senegal has also spoken out. It states that it is closely monitoring developments in the case concerning the tragic death of Abdoulaye BA, a second-year dental surgery student.
The group reacted primarily to the statement by the public prosecutor, who, in a press release published this Saturday, declared that "the available evidence does not corroborate the rumors of physical violence inflicted on the victim" regarding the death of Abdoulaye Bâ. This statement does not appear to convince the group.
"The autopsy findings have ruled out the possibility of an isolated natural cause and clearly point to the existence of a major traumatic mechanism. Therefore, a fundamental question remains: what is the origin of this trauma? We categorically reject any hypothesis suggesting that the victim could have inflicted a fatal physical trauma on herself," he stated in his press release.
For these comrades of the late Abdoulaye Bâ, it is inconceivable that a 20-year-old, full of life, carrying the hope of an entire family and engaged in a demanding course in dental surgery, would have voluntarily caused his own death.
They therefore call on the judicial authorities to "conduct the rest of the investigation with rigor, fairness and impartiality" in order to shed full light on the exact circumstances of this death and to identify, if necessary, those responsible.
