CRD Gamou Taïba Niassène : Des engagements pris pour un bon déroulement de l’événement religieux
The regional development committee (CRD) dedicated to preparations for the international Gamou of Taïba Niassène met at the Kaolack governorate. During this meeting, the various services involved made commitments regarding security, electricity, and water supply, among other things, to ensure the success of the religious event.
With the Gamou celebration scheduled for January 4, 2026, the poor condition of the road leading to the religious city continues to cause serious concern. Therefore, the organizing committee is once again calling on the authorities to take action in response to this urgent situation.
During the Regional Development Council meeting chaired by Governor Amadou Moctar Watt, several key measures were unveiled to ensure the smooth running of the religious event. Baye Mamoune Niass, president of COMAF, took the opportunity to urge the government to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, particularly at border crossings.
