Hadj 2026 : Le premier vol retour d'Air Sénégal a atterri à l'AIBD avec 417 pèlerins
The return of Senegalese pilgrims from Mecca has officially begun. The first official return flight, operated by the national airline Air Senegal, landed this Sunday around 4 p.m. at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in Dakar, carrying 417 pilgrims. Present at the airport, Farba Diouf, Deputy Director General in charge of operations for the airline, explained the significance of the event: "We have just witnessed the arrival of the first of the 24 flights that Air Senegal has deployed for the return of the pilgrims, scheduled between May 31 and June 10, 2026."
Presenting a very satisfactory progress report, the deputy director noted that the first phase of the operation had proceeded under excellent conditions, "without incident, without significant delays, and with strong performance in terms of flight regularity and punctuality." Farba Diouf also assured that this rigorous system would be maintained throughout the week to guarantee that worshippers would be transported under the best possible conditions.
