Apparition de la lune : L’annonce officielle de la Commission nationale sur le début du ramadan

The crescent moon was sighted this Wednesday in several locations across Senegal. The announcement was made by the National Commission for Consultation on the Lunar Crescent (CONACOC), which met today. Consequently, it announced that tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, 2026, will be the first day of the lunar month of Ramadan, or "koor."

The commission states that it previously gathered all the information from its 485 representatives located throughout the country. It also says it consulted with religious families and the Imams of the country's 14 regions and 46 departments.
