On the eve of Christmas, the President of the Republic made a powerful symbolic gesture in Ziguinchor. His courtesy visit to Archbishop Jean-Baptiste Valter Manga turned into a moment of profound exchange where humanity and spirituality met.
For the Archbishop, this trip goes beyond protocol: it is a major sign of consideration for the Christian community and an encouragement for local initiatives.
Bishop Manga welcomed the presidential tour of Casamance, highlighting the President's approach of engaging with the people, characterized by listening to and respecting them. Reaffirming the Church's unwavering commitment to the peace process, he expressed his willingness to support the President's vision through prayer and action.
Dialogue as the foundation of governance
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, for his part, reiterated that his vision of governance is based on sincere dialogue with all the moral and spiritual forces of the country. He praised the essential role of the Church in promoting peace, social cohesion, and harmonious coexistence in Senegal.
