Frontière de Moussala : 124 ressortissants étrangers refoulés lors de vastes opérations de contrôle et de sensibilisation
The Moussala Border Sector conducted major patrol and travel document control operations on December 25 and 26, 2025, in strict compliance with the provisions relating to the stay and establishment of foreigners on the national territory.
These large-scale operations covered the border area from Moussala to Guémédjé, and then from Guémédjé to Fadougou, a strategic zone for cross-border traffic. For two days, the deployed teams patrolled several localities, including Gare Bouréya, Bougouda, Fadougou, and their immediate surroundings.
Following these operations, one hundred and twenty-four (124) foreign nationals were turned back for lack of proper travel documents. The individuals concerned are distributed as follows: 72 Malian nationals, 28 Burkinabe nationals, 17 Guinean nationals, 5 Nigerien nationals, and 2 Nigerian nationals.
Alongside the checks, awareness sessions were organized for local populations, in the presence of village chiefs or their representatives. Discussions focused on current security emergencies, including violent extremism, irregular migration, terrorism, human trafficking, and transnational organized crime.
In an effort to prevent and effectively combat these scourges, the population has been invited to strengthen its collaboration with the Defense and Security Forces, regardless of any consideration of affiliation.
While commending the effectiveness of these operations conducted by the Border Police in Moussala, the residents of Gare Bouréya, Bougouda, and Fadougou took the opportunity to raise concerns with the authorities regarding persistent challenges. They specifically denounced the lack of telephone network coverage in these remote areas, as well as the poor condition of the roads—major obstacles that hinder local economic activity and, consequently, the development of these communities.
