The national police conducted a large-scale operation across the country during the night of February 14-15, 2026, under the supervision of the Directorate of Public Security (DSP). This police operation, aimed at strengthening the sense of security, resulted in the arrest of 321 individuals, including a suspected murderer and individuals suspected of committing serious crimes.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of a wide range of offenders. Of the 321 people detained, 208 were stopped for identity checks, while 26 individuals were arrested for public intoxication. Police also made 26 arrests for investigative purposes.

Among the most serious arrests is that of a suspected murderer, according to Seneweb sources. Two individuals were arrested for child abduction and gang rape resulting in pregnancy, while one person was apprehended for sexual harassment and making death threats. Another individual was arrested for possession of a bladed weapon.

The drug-related aspect of this operation proved particularly fruitful. Police arrested three people for possession and use of marijuana, seven others for possession and group use of the same substance, and one individual for possession of hashish. One person was arrested for offering and distributing ecstasy, two for using cellulose-based products, and two others for possession and use of kush.

Regarding other offenses against persons, detectives arrested one individual for manslaughter in a traffic accident and another for assault and battery resulting in a 14-day period of temporary incapacity for work. Two people were apprehended for fighting in a public place, and five individuals for violence and assault.

Property crimes did not escape the vigilance of the police. Twelve people were arrested for theft, four caught in the act, and one for attempted theft. One individual was arrested for receiving stolen goods, five for conspiracy, and one for destruction of property. One person was arrested for soliciting in public and another for illegally occupying public space.

In terms of seizures, law enforcement officers confiscated seven packets of marijuana and one joint, twelve ecstasy tablets, and 0.5 grams of hashish. The operation also resulted in the impoundment of 21 cars and 143 motorcycles. Police seized 888 miscellaneous items.

The financial report for this operation shows 1,148,000 francs in fixed fines imposed for various traffic violations and other regulatory breaches.
