Affaire Softcare : Dr Ibrahima Ndiaye du PRP appelle l’autorité à « s’assumer »

Invited to the "Grand Jury" program on RFM this Sunday, December 28, 2025, Ibrahima Ndiaye, national secretary in charge of finance and logistics for the Republican Party for Progress (PRP), spoke about the Softcare affair. The professor at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar believes that this affair reveals shortcomings in the handling of the case and calls on the authorities to be more rigorous and responsible.

"The Softcare case requires the authorities to take responsibility. How? By taking strong measures, by conducting investigations in a much more serious manner than this. We cannot conduct investigations in two or three days. It is not possible," he insists.

Mr. Ndiaye thus emphasizes the need for thorough investigations, commensurate with the public health stakes. According to him, when it comes to sensitive products intended for infants or women, no approximations can be tolerated.

Criticizing the communication surrounding the case, which he considers confusing and counterproductive, the politician believes that contradictory messages have undermined citizens' trust in the institutions responsible for protecting them. "If we're at this point, it's because at one time, we were able to put aside our disputes and focus on what's essential. That's what we're lacking today," he said, before asserting that the public interest must take precedence over internal squabbles and knee-jerk reactions of self-justification.
