Ambulances retenues aux péages : Un député tire la sonnette d’alarme et interpelle le ministre de la Santé
In plenary session at the National Assembly, MP Saliou Ndione strongly denounced a situation which he considers "as unacceptable as it is inhumane": the immobilization of ambulances in tollbooths on highways, while they are transporting patients in emergency situations.
According to the elected official, ambulances coming from different localities and transporting patients to referral facilities are regularly stopped at tollbooths for payment issues or administrative procedures.
"Every minute lost is borne by the patient," he warned in the chamber, recalling that these delays can be fatal in critical situations.
Faced with this situation, Saliou Ndione called on the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene to take urgent measures to put an end to these practices. He specifically requested that the same preferential treatment granted to the defense and security forces be extended to ambulances, so that they can circulate freely and without hindrance on the entire national highway network.
The MP also drew attention to the worrying health situation in the Rufisque department, which he described as a strategic area, both demographically and geographically. Despite its importance, the Youssou Mbargane Hospital, the main health facility in the area, does not have the technical equipment that meets current standards.
"If referrals have become almost systematic, it is because this hospital is forced to direct patients elsewhere, due to a lack of adequate equipment," he explained, calling for a profound reform and a strengthening of the medical platform.
For Saliou Ndione, it is time to "restore the Youssou Mbargane hospital to its rightful place and dignity" by providing it with modern infrastructure, sufficient medical equipment and specialized staff, in order to limit costly and stressful evacuations for patients and their families.

Le péage devrait être gratuit pour les ambulances ! Ces colons nous pillent, nous plongent dans l’extrême pauvreté et ne nous souhaitent même pas d’être vivants ! Ils nous souhaitent la mort dans notre propre pays.
Oui, à mon avis, mais les embulances doivent être bien identifiés et se procurer de leur droit de circuler librement sur les autoroutes délivré par les autorités compétentes. L'agent sur les autoroutes doit pouvoir faire la vérification en moins de 30s, pas plus !
C'est inadmissible que de retenir une ambulance à un péage. Ce député a raison sur toute la ligne.
Cela dit, les ambulanciers ne doivent non plus pas se livrer au transport comme des Ndiaga Ndaye.
