Budget 2026 de la Santé : 217 Milliards FCFA sous le feu des préoccupations des Députés
The 2026 draft budget for the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene is set at 274.28 billion FCFA in commitment authorizations (CA) and 217.27 billion FCFA in payment appropriations (PA), according to the document submitted to the National Assembly for review. Currently under review this Thursday, December 4, 2025, it is structured around three main programs. The draft budget is divided into three major programs:
Steering, coordination and administrative management : 58.37 billion FCFA, including more than 21 billion for personnel and nearly 22.5 billion for the acquisition of goods and services.
Prevention and health promotion : 23.93 billion FCFA, with a large share devoted to current transfers (14 billion) and investments.
Quality healthcare provision : 191.97 billion FCFA in commitment authorizations, this program concentrates the bulk of the resources, notably with more than 59 billion in capital transfers intended for heavy investments.
In his address, the Minister of Health welcomed the results achieved in 2025, highlighting the 2024 performance report and the progress made in implementing the various programs. He nevertheless acknowledged "the existence of major challenges, particularly in terms of infrastructure, medical equipment, specialized human resources, and equitable access to care."
