Document- Épidémies au Sénégal : 8 nouveaux cas de FVR et 14 cas contacts de Mpox suivis
The Ministry of Health and Social Action published, on November 8, a new bulletin on the evolution of the Rift Valley Fever and Mpox epidemics.
Rift Valley Fever (RVF)
It is reported that as of November 7, 2025, 8 new positive cases and zero new deaths were recorded. Since the start of the epidemic, Senegal has recorded 413 confirmed cases, including 29 deaths and 362 recoveries.
Mpox
Regarding Mpox, health authorities have reported that since the first case was confirmed on August 22, 2025, 7 confirmed cases and 2 probable cases have been recorded, all located in the Dakar region. All patients have recovered and no deaths have been reported. To date, 14 contacts are currently being monitored.
Therefore, the Ministry calls on the population to be vigilant, to strictly respect prevention measures, and to actively collaborate with health workers and community relays to contain these epidemics.
