Kaolack : Plus de 400 femmes dépistées au district sanitaire de Kasnack

As part of the global Pink October campaign, under the leadership of the Kaolack city councilor in partnership with the Kasnack health district, the Dakar Autonomous Port Foundation LISCA organized a cervical cancer awareness and screening day this Saturday.

Hundreds of women rallied to the Kasnack health district for breast and uterine cancer screening sessions. Sponsor of this activity, Kaolack Mayor Serigne Mboup praised the large turnout of women, stating, "Women are always exposed to diseases. We say it's God's doing, but we still have to prevent them. What I saw here comforts me because I saw women who were calm and truly hopeful."

For the head physician of the Kasnack health district, Dr. Niene Seck, the first day was for the training of 42 midwives from the district in the private and parapublic sectors for screening but also for the management of precancerous lesions.

Today, we have screened more than 400 women for cervical and breast cancer. "But what's most important is allowing them to benefit from comprehensive diagnoses," he says.

Fatoumata Sidibé of the Dakar Port Autonomous Foundation emphasized that they have invested more than 2 billion FCFA in the health sector since its creation in 2018. "We are working alongside the public authorities to take action and, above all, to realize our firm desire to establish an efficient health system that is accessible to all," she said.
