Alongside the annual Ziara dedicated to Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Ahmad Barro, the public hospital in Mbour bearing his name was officially inaugurated, in a context marked both by a strong symbolic charge and by serious concerns related to the state of the local health system.

The ceremony was held in the presence of state representatives, health authorities, religious leaders, and members of the illustrious scholar's family. Speaking on behalf of Thierno Cheikh Ahmadou Tijani Barro, Khalif of the Thierno Ahmad Barro family, and the entire family, Inspector Aboul Daff emphasized the spiritual dimension of the event by quoting the Quran: "And whoever saves a life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity" (Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 32).

The family expressed its gratitude to the State of Senegal, the health and territorial authorities, and the technical and human resources who contributed to the construction of this facility. They also welcomed the decision to name the establishment after Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Ahmad Barro, believing that this choice will permanently enshrine his spiritual, moral, and social legacy in the daily lives of the community.

A leading figure of the Tijaniyya Sufi order, Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Ahmad Barro dedicated his life to spiritual education, the transmission of values of peace, and the calming of hearts. A tireless traveler, he crisscrossed Africa, Europe, and Asia to strengthen the bonds between believers. His work in Europe, particularly in France, earned him official recognition, marked by his awarding of the Legion of Honor. In Mantes-la-Jolie, the annual Daaka festival transformed the town into a center of spiritual gathering and fraternity.

Committed to making major spiritual gatherings accessible, he encouraged the organization of the Daaka within Senegal and in several countries of the sub-region, allowing thousands of faithful to experience this event without the constraints of distance. This vision was founded on compassion and the universality of the religious message.

Beyond the tribute, the ceremony served as a platform for advocating for improvements to the hospital's technical facilities. The family and healthcare professionals emphasized that the Mbour hospital, classified as a level 1 facility, effectively operates as a level 3 hospital, given the influx of patients and the healthcare coverage it provides for several districts.

Dr. Ndiaye Thérèse Aïda, the hospital director, noted that the facility, built in 2011 and officially named in 2021, occupies a strategic position due to Mbour's geographical location and its rapid population growth. She indicated that steps are being taken with the relevant authorities to ensure the gradual expansion of the facility.

Colonel Abdoulaye Sakho, representing the Minister of Health, took note of the concerns raised, in a context where the needs for infrastructure and human resources remain significant.

Staff representative Madd Sène, for his part, painted an uncompromising picture of the daily difficulties: overloaded services, lack of resources, pressure on healthcare staff and inequalities in access to care.

"Health is not a luxury. We cannot accept that populations suffer while priorities lie elsewhere," he said, calling for urgent and structural investments.
