Prévention et lutte contre le cancer : Les directives de Bassirou Diomaye Faye
The Council of Ministers met this Wednesday at the Presidential Palace. Speaking on World Cancer Day, celebrated every February 4th, President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye asked his government to strengthen prevention, public awareness, and early detection of cancers, particularly childhood and women's cancers.
Furthermore, he "indicated the urgency of improving the modalities and facilities of access to treatments and care for patients and of finalizing the construction, equipping and acceptance of the National Oncology Center of Diamniadio".
In this vein, the Council of Ministers' communiqué continued, President Diomaye Faye asked the Prime Minister to oversee the implementation of a ten-year national program for the prevention and control of cancers.
