Questions écrites : Le ministère de la Santé répond "enfin" à Guy Marius Sagna
After several months of silence, the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene has finally responded to written questions from MP Guy Marius Sagna. He had repeatedly denounced the ministry's refusal to comment on certain sensitive issues, notably the case of the Director General of the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP), implicated in "drug trafficking," and the scandal involving SOFTCARE diapers.
This time, four major concerns received clarification.
1. The 256 employees of the Buffet Foundation
The ministry states that these agents were recruited as part of a project initially scheduled to end on July 31, 2025. An extension has been granted until December 31, 2025. All salary arrears have been settled, according to health authorities.
2. The salaries of PIC 4 agents
Regarding the payment delays observed, the ministry states that the situation has been rectified and that the salaries have been paid.
3. The assignment of a doctor to Dabo (Kolda)
The delay in assigning a doctor to the level 1 health center in the commune of Dabo is due, according to the Ministry, to constraints related to the availability of human resources. The Kolda health district and the Ministry assure that the recruitment and assignment process is being finalized.
4. Hospital interns and former interns
The ministry reminds that their recruitment into the civil service is not automatic and falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Transformation of the Public Service.
Furthermore, he specifies that a contractor was selected on August 11, 2025, for the renovation of the interns' housing at Fann Hospital, for an amount of 202,268,508 FCFA financed by BCI. The work, scheduled to last eight months, is, however, at a standstill due to a lack of funding, jeopardizing the initial timeline.
A silence that raises questions
While these answers provide some initial clarification on certain issues, they do not dispel the questions raised by MP Guy Marius Sagna. Sensitive matters, such as drug trafficking and the SOFTCARE scandal, remain without official explanation.
