Conflit social dans la santé : And Gueusseum–SATSUS durcit le ton
The trade union coalition, Jonction des luttes And Gueusseum–SATSUS, has taken stock of its first action plan, reporting a mobilization that it describes as particularly high.
According to internal estimates, strike participation rates ranged from 80% to 98% across the country's various healthcare facilities, with emergency services and minimum service levels maintained. In hospitals, as well as in health centers and clinics, the coalition believes this participation reflects deep worker discontent and strong unity around their demands.
Union officials expressed their disagreement with the refusal of the prefect of Dakar to validate the march planned for November 26, 2025, a request which they said was submitted within the regulatory deadlines.
The Joint Struggles Coalition also expressed regret at the lack of response from the Ministry of Public Service and Labor to its strike notice, believing that this silence complicates the search for solutions. The Ministry of Health is also criticized for its perceived inadequate response to a context marked by a rise in zoonotic diseases, which the coalition considers a source of preventable deaths.
The coalition also draws attention to the gradual reduction of the budget allocated to the Ministry of Health, which is falling below the WHO's recommended level (9% of the national budget). According to the coalition, this trend is incompatible with the growing needs of the already weakened healthcare system.
She believes that lasting social peace cannot be achieved without improved working conditions, a reduction in precarious employment contracts, and a better response to staff expectations. For the unions, the official narrative about economic difficulties cannot be credible without a significant reduction in government spending. They believe that workers "have already given their all" and that continued mobilization is essential in the absence of government concessions.
A second action plan announced
The coalition is implementing a new phase of mobilization, with a 48-hour strike on Wednesday, December 10, while respecting emergency services. The unions reaffirm their support for workers facing legal proceedings, particularly in the Diourbel region, and state their determination to continue their movement.

Il y a plein de jeunes qui ont fait les écoles privées de santé et effectué plusieurs stages ruraux, sans même pouvoir passer l’examen d’Etat, une véritable escroquerie de la part de ces écoles. Vous n’en parlez pas parce que vous avez casé tous vos parents. Vous oubliez qu’un jour vous serez devant le créateur.
Ceux qui sont les plus sensés à devoir se sacrifier pour la patrie,ce sont les membres du personnel médical.On ne choisit pas d'aller à l'hôpital pour se soigner.La santé n'est pas un luxe,mais plus qu'une nécessité : une question de survie,le droit à la vie.Quand le pays qui est en train d'être redressé connaît des difficultés conjoncturelles, l'esprit de compassion pour ses pairs impose celui du dépassement,de la patience.La dénomination de cette coalition '' and gueusseum '' laisse forcément planer une suspicion de chantage.

Le gouvernement doit comprendre que cest son comportement et ses nomination budgetivore qui agacent les travailleurs. Surtt quand on se rend compte que certaines nomination au poste de responsabilité nous créent d'énormes difficultés a avancer. Parck certains Dg de pastef sont trop nuls.
