Sortie 8e promotion UFR Santé UASZ : L’humanisme, l’humilité et l’hospitalité comme sacerdoce à véhiculer dans la prise en charge des patients

Professor Yaya Kane, nephrologist and teacher-researcher at the UFR Health of the Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (UASZ), believes that the recipients received advice and lessons in the practice of medicine.

"It is now up to them to go into the field and apply the knowledge they have received. They have many talents, they are ready to face medicine, art, especially since their slogan sums it all up: it is humanism, hospitality. We all have the essence of these words in the hospital, in health structures. Humanism must be at the heart of activities at the hospital level. Hospitality, welcome, kindness. It is essential and they have already understood this," according to Professor Kane.

Colonel Kambel Dieng, Director General of the National Civic Service and Volunteering, sponsor of this class, advises these young people to let their talent blossom, because they have the capacity and the potential to do extraordinary things for Senegal and for Africa.

He wants to make these young people the first African health volunteers, in addition to supporting them in the process of providing quality health care for African and Senegalese populations.

Bienvenu Sibamcoé Diata, president of the 8th graduating class of the Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor in the health program, explained the choice of their motto by citing the various experiences gained during their training. These were difficult times, but full of meaning. "We had to carry out many activities, such as medical consultations throughout the Ziguinchor region and in Kolda. It wasn't easy, but it was for the benefit of the population, and if the population benefited, we are equally happy," testified the future Dr. Diatta.

Humanism, humility, and hospitality: a way of showing that this graduating class aims to be close to the population, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized groups who lack access to adequate healthcare, in order to try and help them. "Our activities are part of this context, and this will be a continuation," stated the president of the 8th graduating class of the UFR Health at UASZ.
