Deux jours d’échanges pour pré-valider des outils innovants en santé communautaire et digitale

The Directorate of Maternal and Child Health (DSME), in partnership with the NGO RAES, organized a pre-validation workshop for the SANSAS project's communication tools on September 30 and October 1, 2025, in Dakar. This event brought together institutional stakeholders, technical partners, and community representatives.

A first day focused on research and digital productions

The work began with a presentation of the formative research conducted in the districts of Sédhiou and Mbour. Participants then viewed and analyzed the 50 episodes of the TikTok mini-series, designed to raise awareness among young people about maternal, newborn, and child health, family planning, and nutrition. These materials aim to bring health messages closer to young audiences through attractive and appropriate formats.

Pre-validated community tools and radios

The second day focused on the presentation of the radio animation guide and a mini-music album (EP) produced with five local rappers, in order to strengthen youth engagement. The discussions provided technical and strategic recommendations to validate these productions and define strategies for amplifying the campaigns planned in the intervention areas.

A key milestone in the regional program C'est la vie!

The SANSAS project is part of the regional public health program "C'est la vie!", implemented by the NGO RAES with its partners in several West and Central African countries. Through this initiative, Senegal is contributing to a regional dynamic aimed at strengthening the integration of health services, promoting innovative communication approaches, and accelerating progress towards the 2030 SDGs.

This workshop is also part of the implementation of the Integrated Strategic Plan for SRMNIA-N and the Annual Budgeted Plan for Family Planning (PABPF). It constitutes a key step in ensuring the relevance of the content, aligning the tools with national standards and strengthening coordination between institutional, technical and community actors.

In closing the proceedings, the NGO RAES praised the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene through the DSME, as well as the involvement of community and institutional actors, who actively participate in this collective dynamic in favor of the health and well-being of mothers, newborns, children and young people.

This workshop marks a decisive step forward for the national appropriation of the SANSAS project tools, while consolidating the regional momentum carried by the "C'est la vie!" program, in favor of the sustainable improvement of public health indicators by 2030.
