183 kg de drogue saisis à Tonghor : Fin de cavale pour I. Fall, cerveau du réseau

After months of intensive research, the gendarmes of the Territorial Brigade of the Fair have finally arrested I. FALL, considered the mastermind of a major drug trafficking network that attempted to sell 183 kilograms of Indian hemp to Senegal.

A missed haul in June

The facts date back to June 24, 2025, when a large-scale operation carried out by the gendarmerie at the Tonghor fishing wharf led to the seizure of an exceptional cargo of 183 kilograms of Indian hemp. This intervention also resulted in the confiscation of a Hyundai vehicle abandoned on the scene by the fleeing traffickers according to Seneweb sources.

Although this operation was a success in terms of seizures, it left a feeling of unfinished business: the main organizer of the network, I. FALL, had managed to escape the net, unlike two of his accomplices who were quickly arrested and are currently in detention.

A hunt that bears fruit

Since then, I. FALL has been at the top of the list of people most wanted by the gendarmerie services. The meticulous investigation carried out by the investigators had made it possible to identify his central role in this criminal organization and to gather evidence of his guilt.

The patience and perseverance of the police were finally rewarded when the fugitive was spotted in the commune of Yoff. The gendarmes arrested him in the act and took him under heavy escort to the police station for the purposes of the investigation.

Suspicious goods seized

I. Fall's arrest was accompanied by significant discoveries that strengthen the suspicions against him. Investigators found in his possession:

- A Land Rover vehicle registered in Gambia, raising questions about the cross-border ramifications of this trafficking

- A large sum of money whose origin remains to be established

- A new cell phone that may contain digital evidence

All of these assets were placed under seal, as investigators considered them to be potential proceeds from the sale of narcotics.

An unbelievable version

Faced with the charges against him and after being informed of his right to legal assistance, I. FALL chose the path of total denial. His version of events appears to be fanciful, to say the least, in the eyes of investigators.

The suspect claims to have been contacted by people he claims not to know to carry out a simple transport of "chicken legs" from the Yoff fishing dock to Thiaroye. He admits, however, to having rented the vehicle for this operation, without being able to provide further details on his supposed sponsors.

Referral to court

I. FALL was brought before the Dakar High Court last Wednesday by the Fair's gendarmes.

This arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of the in-depth work carried out by the gendarmes of the Dakar Legion under the command of Colonel Malick Faye, in the fight against major drug trafficking which threatens the social and economic stability of the country.
