The technical director of the Mor Fadam stable, where he was a resident, specialized in close protection. Le Soleil recounts his career change. Excerpt.

 

1. Mor Fadam

After being a member of the Mor Fadam stable, where he met Gouy Gui, Assurance became its technical director. "He passes on his knowledge and supports young talent," notes Le Soleil.

2. Abdou Diouf

Ambulance started out at the Ndiambour stable before moving to the Mor Fadam stable. He made his debut in his new colors in 1997 with a resounding victory over Abdou Diouf, who was more renowned at the time. A clear and quick victory. Just seven seconds.

3. Insurance

In total, Ambulance fought 34 fights. He recorded 28 wins and 6 losses. Among his successes, the one he won over Assurance will remain etched in his memory. "This fight deserves to be recounted," the former wrestler told Le Soleil. "I was seriously ill and injured before the fight; I wasn't supposed to fight. But the promoter refused to postpone it. My father then advised me to honor my commitment as long as I could get to the arena."

4. Two thousand CFA francs

2012, the shock. Despite the efforts made for his first big fight, Ambulance found himself with a balance of... 2,000 CFA francs. Barely enough to buy a good sandwich. "That's when I realized that wrestling didn't guarantee me a stable life," he recalls. He turned to close protection. He earned his diploma after completing the training.

5. Moustapha Niasse, Malick Gakou…

Close security allowed Ambulance to have the "stable life" that wrestling didn't offer him. Among the personalities he provided security for were Moustapha Niasse and Malick Gakou. Ambulance claims he was the latter's bodyguard and driver. A "generous" person, exclaims the former wrestler: "He pays me well and that allows me to support my family."
