29 ans après "Soldat", Omar Pène retourne en caserne pour un vibrant hommage à l’Armée
An iconic voice whose teachings have resonated in the hearts of Senegalese people for decades, Omar Pène is poised to make his mark on the national music scene once again. Twenty-nine years after the phenomenal success of his cult hit "Soldat," the lead singer of Super Diamono is returning to his patriotic roots. The artist has just released a teaser for a new song dedicated to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) on his digital platforms.
For Omar Pène, this return to his military roots is above all an act of recognition. He believes it is every citizen's "duty" to honor the men and women who ensure the country's security and stability. The official release of this single is scheduled for March 27, ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
“On March 27th, I will unveil a very special new single… A song dedicated to our valiant National Army and all our Defense and Security Forces, to accompany them on the occasion of our Independence Day. Through this song, I want to pay tribute to the courage, discipline and sacrifice of those who watch over our Nation every day,” the singer said on his social media.
This new track is just the first installment of a larger project. The artist announced that this song inaugurates a series of songs entirely dedicated to uniformed personnel. This tribute will be included on a new studio album scheduled for release this year. This major project is part of the celebration of Bayi Pène's 50-year career, which will culminate in a major international tour.
