81E ANNIVERSAIRE THIAROYE 44 : Le comité de commémoration officiellement installé
The committee commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Thiaroye 44 massacre was officially installed by the Minister Secretary General of the Government this Friday, November 14th, at the President Mamadou Dia Administrative Building. The ceremony was attended by committee members, institutional and cultural partners, and the municipal authorities of Thiaroye.
Minister Boubacar Camara emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the African riflemen unjustly massacred on December 1, 1944. This committee is responsible for continuing the memorial work, preparing the organization of the official ceremony on December 1, 2025, and ensuring the follow-up of the State's commitments.
This mission focuses on the rehabilitation of the Thiaroye site, the dissemination of the white paper, the integration of this episode into school curricula and the promotion of a memorial diplomacy with international partners.
