Abass Ndao : le film de l'évasion ratée de « Mara milliardaire », rattrapé à la Gueule-Tapée
The marabout Serigne A. Faye, alias "Mara Billionaire", detained at the Rebeuss Detention and Correction Center (MAC), attempted to escape during a medical extraction at the Abass Ndao hospital center in Dakar.
According to revelations by L'Observateur, the events date back to last Thursday. He allegedly took advantage of permission to go to the restroom to slip out a window and escape. His escape was quickly detected, triggering a chase through the narrow streets of the Gueule-Tapée district, during which he was caught and "subdued at the last minute" by prison guards.
Returned to custody, he is now the subject of a new procedure for attempted escape, which adds weight to his case before the investigating judge of the Pikine-Guédiawaye court, the same source points out.
He was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) under the supervision of Prosecutor Saliou Dicko. He is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, unnatural acts, pedophilia, repeated rape of a minor, intentional transmission of HIV, rebellion, endangering the life of a police officer, and money laundering.
The investigation concerns an alleged prostitution ring involving a 16-year-old minor. The suspect had already attempted to flee to Gambia before being located through collaboration between Interpol and the DIC, then repatriated to Dakar and placed in pre-trial detention.
"Billionaire Mara" took advantage of his mother's feigned illness to flee when police arrived at his home in Almadies. During his escape attempt, he allegedly even drove his vehicle at a police officer. The officer narrowly avoided a serious injury.
