Accusations, audio et rivalités amoureuses : Six mois de sursis pour un ex possessif qui sabotait les relations de son ancienne amante
The driver, MM Lèye, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, suspended. SF Mbacké accused him of defamation. The plaintiff explained that the driver had sent two audio messages to N. Mbodj, with whom he had marriage plans.
"He told N. Mbodj that I was courting a girl named F. Kane and that I was even planning to marry her. Since he said things against me, I filed a complaint," he told the judge.
MM Lèye is the former lover of N. Mbodj, with whom he had a 6-year-old child. This case reveals a persistent jealousy and behavior that the prosecutor described as "malice coupled with jealousy."
In court, Mr. Lèye explained that he still maintains good relations with N. Mbodj, despite their separation. He acknowledged having stated that SF Mbacké could not take N. Mbodj from him, much less F. Kane.
When asked about his relationship with her, he confirmed without hesitation: "Yes, F. Kane is my girlfriend."
For his part, N. Mbodj portrays an absent and jealous man. "Our child is 6 years old today. He does nothing for him. Every time he knows I am in a relationship, he comes to cause me problems. He spends his time denigrating me to men who are looking to marry me," N. Mbodj complained to the judge.
In response to these statements, the prosecutor admonished Mr. Lèye: "You are irresponsible. Would you like it if someone did that to your own sister? You want to keep her like a piece of furniture. You don't marry her and you don't want anyone else to. That's malice, jealousy compounded by malice."
After deliberation, the court sentenced Mr. Lèye to 6 months in prison with a suspended sentence and a fine of 200,000 CFA francs to be paid to Mr. Mbacké.
