Affaire d’héritage : la veuve et le beau-fils se battent pour juste...
Sued by his late father's widow, AT Gaydo (36 years old) will learn his fate on March 25, the date of the verdict at the Dakar court. Charged with breach of trust, violence, and assault, the defendant is being sued by his stepmother for six million CFA francs in damages.
At the heart of the conflict: an inherited house. The accused admits to receiving a monthly rent of 170,000 CFA francs since 2019, but claims to send part of this sum back to the village to support his siblings. His mother-in-law, however, disputes these figures and maintains that the property actually generates 200,000 CFA francs per month. She accuses her son-in-law of having paid her only "20,000 CFA francs initially" before ceasing all payments, while simultaneously appropriating other family properties located in Fouta.
The plaintiff, a mother of six, describes a tense atmosphere marked by threats and altercations when she demands her share. Living in Dakar for health reasons, she claims she had to bear medical expenses alone, including 300,000 CFA francs for her baby's operation.
The prosecutor has requested the application of the law, reports L'Observateur.
