Affaire Softcare : L’Assemblée nationale entre en action
On Monday, January 5, 2026, the National Assembly of Senegal established a parliamentary fact-finding mission dedicated to the marketing of Softcare brand products. This initiative marks the entry of members of parliament into action on an issue that raises questions regarding public health and consumer protection.
Established in accordance with Article 51 of the internal regulations, the mission was approved by the Bureau of the National Assembly on December 29, 2025. It was installed under the chairmanship of MP Mbène Faye, 4th Vice-President of the institution.
Composed of eleven members of parliament from the Health Committee, the mission reflects parliamentary pluralism. It is headed by Khady Sarr, assisted by Raqui Diallo and Papa Tahirou Sarr as vice-presidents, with Boye Baby as rapporteur.
With a mandate of thirty days, renewable if necessary, the mission will conduct hearings, consultations and field visits.
Following its work, recommendations are expected to strengthen transparency, public accountability and consumer protection.
