Affaires d'homosexuels à Thiès : Neuf mandats de dépôt décernés par le procureur
The nine men arrested in connection with two separate proceedings opened in Thiès for alleged acts of "unnatural acts" were placed under arrest warrant on Thursday, following their presentation before the public prosecutor at the Thiès High Court.
The first case involves four men: MK Ndiaye, BT Diop, M. Kanté, and O. Ndao. They were arrested last weekend by police in an apartment where a private party was being held. After being held in custody, they were brought before the prosecutor, then returned to the prosecutor's office before being presented again to the magistrate.
The second case involves five other people, A. Fall, A. Niang, A. Niane, MB Faye and D. Diène, who were arrested by the Thiès research section following investigations. They were also brought before the prosecutor's office before being presented to the public prosecutor.
According to multiple sources, the first four individuals implicated are charged with unnatural acts, while the other five are charged with unnatural acts and HIV/AIDS transmission. These same sources indicate that medical examinations were conducted during the investigation.
However, it is reported that tailor A. Fall and dancer D. Diène were unaware that they were living with HIV and may have infected other partners.
Following their meeting with the public prosecutor, the nine defendants were formally charged and remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Thiès court for flagrant offenses on July 17, 2026.
