AIBD : Près de 30 kg de haschich saisis par les Douanes, deux individu arrêtés et mis à la disposition du parquet de Mbour
The Customs Tourism Brigade, attached to the Customs Subdivision of Blaise-Diagne International Airport (AIBD), under the Western Regional Directorate, carried out a major drug seizure.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 289 slabs of hashish, weighing a total of 28.97 kilograms, with an estimated street value of 190 million CFA francs. The seizure took place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 7:00 PM at the Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD).
According to the DGD's Communication and Public Relations Division, the drugs, consisting of cannabis resin, were carefully concealed in two suitcases belonging to a foreign woman arriving from a North African country. Officers from the Tourism Brigade detected suspicious evidence during a routine scanner check.
Upon opening the luggage, officers discovered a substance packaged in slabs. Tests carried out by the forensic science laboratory confirmed that it was hashish.
The investigation led to the arrest, on the same day, of the alleged recipient, a 45-year-old Senegalese man. Both suspects were handed over to the Mbour Public Prosecutor's Office, while the investigation continues.
Through this operation, the Customs Administration reaffirms its determination to fight transnational organized crime and combat illicit trafficking in all its forms.
