AIBD : une mule française et son contact sénégalais tombent avec 29 kg de drogue
On February 26, at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), a large shipment of hashish was intercepted by the Customs Tourism Brigade, leading to the arrest of two people.
According to information obtained by Libération, it was around 7 p.m. when A. Zaheri, a 24-year-old French national of Comorian origin, approached the customs checkpoint. The scanning of her luggage immediately alerted the officers. A search of two of her three suitcases revealed 289 carefully concealed slabs of hashish. The seizure, weighing a total of 28.97 kilograms, has an estimated street value of nearly 200 million CFA francs, according to the same source.
When questioned at the scene, the courier confessed that her contact was waiting for her outside. Thanks to a coordinated operation with the Airport Anti-Trafficking Unit (CAAT), customs officers apprehended S. Bocoum, 46, in the airport parking lot. He confessed shortly after his arrest.
The two suspects were brought before the prosecutor's office for international drug trafficking, the daily newspaper adds.
