Air Sénégal devient transporteur officiel des Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse Dakar 2026
With one year to go until the first Olympic event on the African continent, the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (YOGOC) and Air Senegal have announced the signing of a strategic partnership. Air Senegal becomes the official airline and official sponsor of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The signing ceremony, held this Friday, October 24, 2025 in Dakar, formalized this agreement, which is part of a shared vision of international influence.
In the presence of Mr. Ibrahima Wade, General Coordinator of COJOJ Dakar 2026, and Mr. Farba Diouf, Deputy General Manager of Air Senegal, this partnership marks a new stage in the commitment of the national airline.
By joining the Dakar 2026 sponsorship family, Air Senegal affirms its ambition to contribute to the success of this historic event. The national airline will support the YOGOC "through services related to its area of expertise, embodying excellence, reliability, and Senegalese hospitality."
A symbol of national pride and a key player in the country's air development, Air Senegal intends to make this partnership "a showcase of Senegalese know-how and a lever to promote Senegal as an air hub and flagship destination on the continent."
Through this collaboration, the national pavilion will highlight "the central role of air transport in connectivity, openness to the world and sharing the values of universality and youth promoted by the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games."
For the Dakar 2026 YOGOC, this partnership illustrates the "mobilization of major national institutions around a single objective: to welcome the world to Dakar and offer young African and international athletes an unforgettable experience."

Les délégués du personnel d’Air Sénégal ont officiellement tiré la sonnette d’alarme face à la détérioration avancée de la situation financière, opérationnelle et sociale de la compagnie aérienne nationale. Dans un communiqué daté du vendredi 24 octobre, ils exposent une crise profonde marquée par une dette considérable et une gestion qu’ils jugent défaillante.
Selon nos informations, la dette de l’entreprise atteint désormais plusieurs centaines de milliards de FCFA, impliquant fournisseurs, partenaires financiers et sous-traitants. Les représentants du personnel attribuent cette dérive à des « choix d’achats d’avions opérés à l’encontre des recommandations du Business Plan initial » ainsi qu’à une « frénésie suspecte d’affrètements d’avions ACMI ». Les conséquences directes de cette situation sont, selon le document, une « trésorerie exsangue, des retards de salaires, des menaces des fournisseurs et une perte de confiance des partenaires et clients ». Cette situation au sein de la compagnie nationale s’inscrit dans un contexte plus large de débat sur la dette des entreprises publiques au Sénégal
