Alioune Tine dénonce un traitement « politiquement connoté » dans le dossier Farba Ngom
Human rights activist Alioune Tine denounced on Tuesday the continued detention of Farba Ngom, a political leader in the Alliance for the Republic (APR), believing that this decision was motivated by political considerations.
In a post on X, Alioune Tine claims that Farba Ngom "is paying a heavy price for his political affiliation, his popularity and his strong legitimacy with his community and in his stronghold".
According to him, "there is no other way to explain the different treatment of the same case shared by Farba Ngom and Tahirou Sarr," the latter having been released.
Alioune Tine believes that this situation is made possible because "the public prosecutor still obeys the Executive power", calling for a profound reform of the judicial system.
In this regard, he argues that "the reform that could truly revolutionize justice would be the election of the prosecutor under regulated conditions," before also advocating for the adoption of a law on the presumption of innocence.
According to him, such a reform would "avoid such an absurd and politically charged court decision".
Farba Ngom, mayor of Agnams, is currently being held in custody as part of an ongoing legal case, while Tahirou Sarr, cited in the same case, has been granted release.

Anyway je wanda puisque jusqu'à un passé récent tu étais des leurs.
Farba va bientot sortir juste comme Miustapha Diop. La Coalition a besoin de ces maires...
