Viol présumé sur une fillette de 7 ans : l’accusé affirme qu’elle était avec sa mère
Accused of rape, pedophilia and abduction of a minor on little NI Seck, aged 7, O. Mbaye, a 41-year-old merchant in detention since March 2020, appeared Tuesday before the Criminal Chamber.
In court, the accused denied everything, crying conspiracy. To exonerate himself, he tried to tarnish the reputation of the victim's mother, portraying her as a former lover who came to smoke in her room, while maintaining that the child had never crossed the threshold of her room. Following her mother, "she stayed quietly on the doorstep," he insisted, as reported by L'Observateur.
The public prosecutor, quoted by the newspaper, dismissed this theory, recalling the child's condition. On the day of the incident, she returned home "limping, complaining of excruciating pain when urinating." The prosecutor relied on a medical certificate documenting "recent vulvar trauma." For him, there was no room for doubt: "Even if there was no hymenal defloration, the sexual assault is undeniable. A 7-year-old child cannot invent such details."
One testimony, however, casts doubt on the account: that of a hairdresser in the Wakhinane neighborhood of Pikine, at whose salon the girl reportedly spent five hours (from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.) on the day in question having her hair braided. According to the hairdresser, the child showed no signs of pain or physical discomfort. Based on this testimony and that of the accused's aunt, who swears the girl never entered the room, the defense argued for acquittal.
The verdict is scheduled for March 3rd, the same source adds.
