Un iPhone 7 au cœur d'une tragédie : Le lutteur « Bombas » risque la prison pour coups et blessures sur son ex-copine
He simply wanted to get back the iPhone 7 he had given his girlfriend before their breakup. Wrestler Aliou Ndiaye, also known as Bombas, residing in Grand-Yoff, finally appeared before the Dakar Criminal Court on charges of attempted murder. He shared the dock with mechanic Abibou Dieng. The wrestler is accused of repeatedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend, who refused to return the phone he had given her.
According to court proceedings, the events took place on the evening of August 6, 2020. Khady Barro had left her home to buy bananas when she encountered her ex-boyfriend, Aliou Ndiaye, who was waiting for her on the corner. He tried to snatch her phone. The young woman struggled before being punched repeatedly. She then took refuge in a tailor's shop but was pursued by Aliou and his friend, Abibou. Aliou then grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed her several times before fleeing. Abibou, who had difficulty walking, was detained at the scene by local residents who thought they were witnessing an assault.
Tailor Diawar Boye alerted the Grand-Yoff police, who dispatched officers to the scene. The victim was taken to Idrissa Pouye Hospital, where he was admitted as an emergency case. The medical certificate, issued six days later, reported three deep wounds, each 8 cm long, and an 18-day period of temporary incapacity for work.
When questioned, the victim stated that she did not know her attackers.
Abibou Dieng was arrested and remanded in custody on August 12, 2020. His friend Aliou Ndiaye, who was on the run, was apprehended a month later and subsequently imprisoned.
In court, the defendants denied the attempted murder charges. Abibou claimed he was wrongly accused, emphasizing that he has a disability and uses crutches. He maintained that he could not have committed such an act. Aliou Ndiaye, for his part, claimed not to know his co-defendant. The complainant did not appear at the hearing.
In his closing arguments, the public prosecutor stated that the victim had indeed identified Aliou Ndiaye. However, the prosecution argued that Ndiaye had not intended to kill him. It therefore requested that the charges be reduced to assault and battery against Aliou Ndiaye and complicity against Abibou. The prosecution requested prison sentences of four years and two years respectively.
After the defense's arguments, which sought acquittal, the chamber adjourned the case for deliberation until March 24.
