Armées : Yankhoba Diémé prend contact avec le haut commandement au Camp Dial Diop
The new Minister of the Armed Forces, Yankhoba Diémé, paid a familiarization visit on Monday, June 15, 2026, to the General Staff Headquarters at Camp Dial Diop in Dakar. This first official visit allowed him to meet with the high military command and gain a better understanding of the workings of the Senegalese Armed Forces.
After the formal welcome and military honors, he laid a wreath at the memorial in tribute to fallen soldiers before signing the guestbook. The visit continued at the Operations Planning and Coordination Center, where he received a presentation on the Senegalese Armed Forces. This session allowed the Minister to learn about the organization, missions, and operational capabilities of the various branches of the Armed Forces.
This initiative is part of his taking office as head of the Armed Forces department and reflects his desire to establish initial contact with military leaders while learning about the main issues related to defense and national security.
