Arrêté en possession de drogue par la police de Kaolack : Un dealer invoque des "raisons de santé"

The Kaolack central police station has put an end to the activities of a drug trafficker. Under the command of Divisional Commissioner Souleymane Ba, the police arrested S. Ndiaye, alias "P. Ndiaye," a 20-year-old motorcycle driver from Jakarta, on October 16, in possession of 24 cones of Indian hemp, in the Thioffack neighborhood, according to Seneweb sources.

The operation followed information that the suspect was involved in Indian hemp trafficking in Thioffack. Elements of the Saloum urban security research brigade then conducted an unannounced raid on the young man's home, finding him in the courtyard. After undergoing a security search, they discovered 14 cones of Indian hemp and a joint of the same substance on him. Continuing their investigations, investigators uncovered a cache: 10 other cones of drugs that the suspect had hidden near the house's boundary wall.

A total of 24 cones of Indian hemp and a joint were seized during the operation. The narcotics were sealed.

When questioned by the police, S. Ndiaye openly admitted the charges against him. He explained that he went to Mbacké on October 7, 2025, where he bought 5,000 CFA francs worth of Indian hemp near a gas station, which he then packaged into cones. He admitted that the drug was intended for sale at a price of 1,000 CFA francs per cone.

But it was his final justification that caught the attention: S. Ndiaye declared that he himself used this drug "for health reasons", thus attempting to minimise the seriousness of his actions.

Prosecuted for offering, transferring and using Indian hemp, the suspect was brought before the Kaolack High Court on Monday, October 20.
