Tentative de vol de moutons : Un vendeur attaqué au coupe-coupe à Kaolack
Just days before Tabaski, fears of cattle rustling persist in several localities of the Kaolack department. On Saturday night, a herder was violently attacked by individuals suspected of being cattle thieves in the village of Thiakhalar, located in the commune of Khelcom Biram.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Four unidentified individuals broke into a house where sheep were being kept. The victim, S. Ndiaye, known as a livestock trader who frequented the Kaolack livestock market as well as the weekly markets in Ndiaffate and surrounding villages, was awakened by suspicious noises while the entire family was fast asleep.
While attempting to pursue the assailants, the herder was ambushed. One of the perpetrators, hidden in a corner of the family compound, attacked him with a machete. Seriously wounded in the head, S. Ndiaye was rescued and then taken to the El Hadj Ibrahima Niass Regional Hospital in Kaolack for medical treatment.
