Prison de Bambey : Une dame arrêtée avec de la drogue dissimulée dans un gris-gris
Prison officers at the Bambey Detention and Correction Center (MAC) intercepted a woman last Friday attempting to smuggle drugs into the prison, according to Seneweb sources.
The woman in question is MTT, 47 years old, married and mother of three, residing in the Léona neighborhood of Bambey. She has been placed in the custody of the local police station.
According to statements by Lieutenant D., director of the Bambey prison, the woman was found in possession of a suspicious charm during a routine check by prison guards. Inside the charm were a loose ball of hashish and four tablets of psychotropic substances, commonly known as "volet".
When questioned about the origin of these prohibited items, MTT stated that the gris-gris (a type of charm) had been given to her by a woman whose identity she did not know. According to Seneweb sources, she was supposed to pass it on to her brother, who is currently in prison.
The suspect was taken into custody for bringing prohibited substances into a prison. The public prosecutor was informed and an investigation was opened to identify the origin of the drugs and determine any possible accomplices.
