Bargny : Un marabout féticheur viole une mineure sous la menace de représailles mystiques
The Bargny police station has placed a 40-year-old fetish priest in custody for the rape of a 17-year-old girl, threatening her with mystical reprisals, according to Seneweb sources.
On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at around 3:10 a.m., fisherman SD and his wife NYN brought the alleged rapist to the Bargny police station for suspected rape of their daughter AD. Heard in the presence of her mother, the 17-year-old girl reported the facts accurately.
On Monday, January 5, 2026, her sister AS had asked her to accompany her to deliver their older brother's birth certificate to their father at his home in Gouye Dioulankar. Not finding their father there, the two sisters went to the family home of a man named LD, a traditional healer whom their father regularly consulted. They entered his room to greet him.
It was then that the marabout asked the older sister, AS, to leave, leaving them alone. During their conversation, the accused ordered the young woman to return to his house around 7 p.m. under threat of mystical reprisals.
Having returned due to threats, the victim stated that the marabout had taken her to a building where he spends the night, located not far from her family home. It was there that she was raped.
Once she got home late at night, subjected to insistent questions from her parents who were looking for her, she revealed the misadventure to them.
Furious and determined to get justice for their daughter, the parents went to confront the suspect and took him to the Bargny police station.
Briefly questioned by the police, the marabout, a traditional healer, unconvincingly denied the accusations. He only admitted to sending the young girl to buy bread and a candle from the shop.
Despite his denials, LD was placed in police custody pending the results of the request for medical assistance addressed to the chief physician of the Youssou Mbargane Diop hospital in Rufisque.
The gynecologist's response to this request proved damning. The medical examination revealed suspected sexual abuse of the 17-year-old girl. The gynecological examination noted "old hymenal lesions at 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock, and 1 o'clock," according to medical terminology that uses the positions of a clock to locate the lesions.
Following these medical results which corroborate the victim's statements, LD was formally taken into custody for rape of a minor and death threats.
Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the Rufisque prosecutor's office, has been informed of the facts and the investigation is ongoing to shed light on this case.
