Benn Tally : La Sûreté urbaine de Dakar arrête un dealer avec 25 pierres de cocaïne
The Dakar Central Police Station's Urban Security Service arrested an individual red-handed for selling drugs. The suspect was in possession of 25 stones of cocaine in the Benn Tally neighborhood.
Acting on a tip-off about drug trafficking being organized by a group of youths in the area, the sleuths launched a targeted operation, as the traffickers were operating "on the sly," meaning they were selling drugs on the go and discreetly to avoid law enforcement. The police monitored the area in question and intervened at the right time. The dealer was caught in the middle of a transaction with a customer; this constitutes a flagrant offense.
During the search, investigators discovered 25 stones of cocaine on the suspect. These individual doses, packaged for retail sale, prove organized trafficking and not simply personal consumption.
The suspect was taken into custody at the Dakar central police station. The investigation is continuing to determine the extent of the network and identify his possible accomplices as well as the source of supply.
