Bignona : Le maire accusé de lotissements illégaux, un collectif de propriétaires exige sa démission
In Bignona, a collective of landowners accuses Mayor Bacary Diatta of carrying out illegal subdivisions on land that has been allocated for decades. These landowners are demanding his immediate departure. Bosco Sambou, spokesperson for the collective, asserts that no new subdivisions can be carried out on these lands, which were subdivided in 1957, and that they cannot be reallocated to third parties by the town hall. According to him, these lands are the object of recurring covetousness on the part of successive mayors, who seek to parcel them out for their own benefit.
This phenomenon, which began under former mayor Youba Sambou and continued under Keita, continues today with Bacary Diatta, deplores Mr. Sambou. The spokesperson specifies that the State of Senegal was dismissed by the Supreme Court in this land case, after having attempted to apply the law on the national domain in the commune of Bignona.
