Bignona : Les populations de Bliss-Kassa appellent au désenclavement des iles et au règlement des problèmes sociaux
The people of Bliss Kassa, which includes the islands of Bacassouck, Haère, Hitou Diogué, and Niomoune, in the rural commune of Kafountine, are calling on state authorities to address the problems and difficulties specific to all these island communities in the Bignona department. Coastal erosion, land salinity, isolation, and electrification are among the problems these people face on a daily basis, hindering their social and economic development.
Dr. Laurent Syna, Director General of the National Reference Laboratory for Building and Public Works (LNR-BTP), sponsor of the Bliss Kassa Youth Fraternity Tournament and spokesperson for the indigenous people, calls on the President of the Republic and his government.
"We took advantage of this gathering to launch an appeal that we called 'The Bliss Appeal'. An appeal that allows us to address the highest authorities, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, and his Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, to draw their attention to the ills and difficulties that the Bliss Islands are facing," said Dr. Syna.
The general manager of LNR-BTP first mentioned the problem of coastal erosion and the rise of the salt marsh. "The sea is devouring the entire region. Salinity is taking over and occupying much of our arable land. We have lost approximately 75% of the land we used to cultivate," he warned.
Access to drinking water is also a real phenomenon, alongside isolation. "There is also the lack of electricity. There is the major rural electrification project. We also want to benefit from it to be able to polarize the islands of Lower Casamance in this ambitious rural electrification project. We are islands. We are surrounded by water. To get here, you have to go by canoe. Sometimes, with the inclement weather, there is danger. We don't always have the right canoes with engines of the required power," continued Dr. Syna.
Furthermore, the residents of Bliss took this opportunity to shed light on the death of their two sons, Didier Badji and Fulbert Sambou.

La qualité de vie des populations de ces localités est très limitée. La justice territoriale doit être mis en jeu pour l'égalité de tout citoyen sénégalais.
Merci vraiment Docteur et votre respectueuse délégation
