Bijoux en or volés : un braquage à 7 millions F CFA, les aveux de l’aide ménagère
A 46-year-old housekeeper, Ng. Diop, as well as two jewellers suspected of receiving stolen goods, F. Seye (26 years old) and B. Mbow (42 years old), were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) and then brought before the prosecutor following a complaint for the theft of jewelry estimated at 7 million CFA francs, reports Libération.
According to the newspaper, the case broke on the day of Tabaski, when the jewelry owner, MD Ba, noticed that a large portion of her gold jewelry was missing. Sharing her home only with her young daughter and a housekeeper she had hired a few months earlier, she quickly suspected the latter.
During her hearing, the newspaper reports, the housekeeper admitted to the crimes and confessed to her method: she would steal one or more pieces of jewelry each time she had the weekend off. Her statements allowed investigators to identify and arrest the two jewelers to whom she resold the stolen goods, the same source adds.
