Blouf chose to demonstrate its environmental commitment through a strong and symbolic action. The second edition of the Blouf Forum was transformed into a vast reforestation operation, mobilizing elected officials, institutions, community organizations, and local populations around a shared ambition: to restore vegetation cover and build a sustainable future.

Led by the Senegalese Agency for Reforestation and the Great Green Wall, headed by Cheikhouna Diatta, and the Blouf Mayors' Collective, represented by Bacary Diatta, mayor of Bignona, the day brought together the presidents of Community Development Associations (ASC), forestry agents, and residents of the various municipalities. Together, they toured Mangagoulack, Thionck Essyl, Mlomp, Kartiack, Diégoune, and Balingore, before concluding the tour at the Mangagoulack town hall. At each stop, seedlings were planted, symbolizing a collective commitment to strengthening the ecological resilience of the region.

This initiative is part of a national movement, as it prepares for the Reforestation Day planned in Diégoune Barafaye. It illustrates the desire of stakeholders in the Blouf region to make it a living laboratory for ecological transition, where every citizen becomes an active participant in the preservation of natural resources.

Beyond tree planting, the Forum raised awareness among local populations about the vital role of trees in soil protection, climate regulation, and local economic development. The message is clear: reforestation is not a one-off activity, but a civic duty and a survival strategy in the face of environmental threats.

By dedicating this second edition to reforestation, Blouf affirms its commitment to combining environmental protection and development. The union of institutions and communities around this cause reflects a collective awareness: only sustained mobilization will make it possible to build a green and prosperous future for generations to come.
