Braquage à Ndoga Babacar : La gendarmerie neutralise les auteurs et récupère le butin
Mamoudou Diallo and Demba Diallo were brought before the prosecutor at the Tambacounda High Court. They are being prosecuted for robbing a fishmonger last Friday around 4 p.m., stealing his motorcycle and 200,000 CFA francs. Their arrest followed a swift intervention by the gendarmerie's research brigade.
The incident occurred on the road between the towns of Saré Souna and Booba, in the commune of Ndoga Babacar. Mamoudou and Demba Diallo, wearing balaclavas and armed with a homemade pistol, intercepted the victim as he was returning from a sales trip to the surrounding villages. Panicked by the threat of the weapon, the vendor offered no resistance. The assailants then seized his bag of money and his vehicle before fleeing towards the Gambian border.
An effective manhunt led by the research brigade
Alerted immediately, the Tambacounda gendarmerie's research brigade launched a search operation. Their local investigations and rapid deployment allowed them to identify and locate Mamoudou Diallo as he attempted to reach his uncle's home in Gambian territory on the stolen motorcycle.
When questioned by investigators, Mamoudou Diallo quickly identified his cousin, Demba Diallo, as his accomplice in the robbery. Demba, who was in possession of the firearm during the attack, was subsequently apprehended by the police.
The end of the road for the two cousins
This successful operation allowed for the return of the vehicle to the victim and the neutralization of two individuals who had been terrorizing the border area. The two suspects are now in police custody, while the investigation continues to determine if they are involved in other similar acts in the region.
