Cambéréne : Une moto de 800 000 F CFA volée et revendue à 160 000 F CFA, 4 suspects arrêtés

The district police station of unit 15 of Parcelles-Assainies has partially dismantled a network of thieves operating in Cambéréne.

Four individuals were arrested for criminal conspiracy, gang theft committed at night and receiving stolen goods, following the theft of a TVS motorcycle worth 800,000 CFA francs.

The case began on September 23, 2025, when A.BA went to the police station to report the theft of his TVS motorcycle, registered AA.... The victim explained that his machine, purchased for 800,000 CFA francs, was parked at his home in Cambéréne 1.

It was around 7 a.m. when he woke up that he noticed his motorcycle was missing, having been stolen during the night of September 22 to 23, 2025.

Surveillance cameras catch thieves

The investigation took a decisive turn thanks to the use of neighborhood surveillance cameras. These images allowed the identification of four individuals involved in this theft, including the victim's neighbor, A. SECK.

The victim easily recognized the latter who had acted with his face uncovered, greatly facilitating the identification of the criminals.

Arrested, A. SECK admitted his participation in the crime and denounced his accomplices: ML GUEYE (already known to the services), M. FALL and B. NDOUR.

The police arrested Mr. Fall and Mr. B. Ndour, who also admitted their criminal actions. They revealed that they had sold the motorcycle to their usual fence, Mr. Samb, for the paltry sum of 160,000 CFA francs, five times less than its purchase price, according to Seneweb sources.

The receiver was also arrested

Mr. SAMB, the receiver, was also arrested and admitted to the charges of receiving stolen goods.

The alleged leader of this gang, MLGUEYE, remains untraceable and is being actively sought with a view to presenting him to the prosecutor. Investigators specify that this gang, led by GUEYE, is responsible for the majority of the crimes reported in Cambéréne.

A well-established modus operandi

The investigation revealed the modus operandi of this criminal gang. The criminals specifically target motorcycles and cell phones in homes and phone stores. They systematically operate at night, around 3 a.m., taking advantage of residents' sleep.
