CAN-2025 : Tivaouane a accueilli le trophée de la Coupe d’Afrique des nations
The commitment and bravery of the Lions and their coach Pape Bouna Thiaw were praised this weekend in Tivaouane, on the occasion of the reception of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN-2025) trophy.
The prefect, Mamadou Guèye, the president of the Departmental Council, Seynabou Gaye Touré, and the mayor, amidst a dense and enthusiastic crowd, received the caravan called "Delloo Njukël", led by the president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall, as part of the national tour aimed at presenting to the people the CAN trophy won by Senegal on January 18, 2026 in Rabat.
They thanked the president of the FSF and the national coach for adopting this approach of recognition towards the municipality of Tivaouane, which, they stressed, demonstrated "a particular attachment to the national team throughout the competition".
Like everywhere else, the inhabitants of Tivaouane, according to their authorities, vibrated in unison with the Lions, knowing that when the nation is at stake, everything else takes a back seat.
Deeply moved by the welcome given to his delegation, the president of the FSF, Abdoulaye Fall, praised the efforts made by the local authorities in favor of the development of sport.
