Trafic de produits cellulosiques à Yeumbeul : deux individus interpellés, plusieurs cartons saisis
The Yeumbeul district police station arrested two individuals on Thursday, May 7, 2026, involved in trafficking cellulosic products intended for drug use. They are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, offering and supplying cellulosic products, complicity, and endangering the lives of others.
According to police information, the events took place around midnight, when members of the Research Brigade were alerted by anonymous reports of the existence of a network selling cellulosic products in Béne Barack.
An unexpected raid on the premises led to the arrest of a first suspect found in possession of three cartons containing a total of 72 bottles of the prohibited product.
During his initial questioning, the suspect admitted to owning two boxes of drugs, which he had acquired with the help of his alleged accomplice, who was then on the run. He also indicated that the third box belonged to another dealer.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspected supplier, a store manager. According to initial findings, he discreetly ensured the supply during the day, while the store's security guard took over at night to distribute the products to resellers.
A search operation was then launched, leading to the arrest of the security guard by members of the Criminal Investigation Brigade. During this operation, the police discovered and seized approximately thirty additional boxes.
When questioned by investigators, the security guard admitted to the facts, while maintaining that the supplier remained primarily responsible for the sale of the boxes.
The two suspects have been taken into custody, while investigations continue to find the other people involved in this network.
